Summary

LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. Since 2004, we have been creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders.

LetsStopAIDS has an exciting Co-op opportunity for a creative, dedicated, and open-minded professional to join our National team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about advocacy, and capable of creating and actualizing innovative solutions towards achieving social awareness. 

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Junior Project Coordinator, the Youth Programme Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate and carryout projects relating to engagement activities of youth members. This could include peer-counseling with students, event planning, producing in-house publications or performing public relations functions.
  • Coordinate activities with colleges, universities, counselors, and other youth-related groups to facilitate LetsStopAIDS Peer Education Programmes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with various academic institutions, individuals, and organizations. 
  • Gather, collect, and record information received through verbal and written inquiry, and write reports on any important information that has been collected. 
  • Attend select events or meetings that support greater youth-HIV engagement.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in project management in a dynamic, complex environment
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
  • Ability to build, influence and motivate teams
  • Strong leadership and relationship building capabilities
  • Proficiency in Google Docs & GSuite applications

Dedication and Compensation

The position offered is for a full-time unpaid role based out of our Toronto office located at 160 John Street. The successful candidate will be required to work from our downtown Toronto office with the flexibility to work from home for up to two days a week. The candidate will be expected to fulfill their requirement for total co-op hours as per their college or university.
