Summary
LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. Since 2004, we have been creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders.
We are currently seeking a motivated and creative Special Events Coordinator (Co-op) to join our Development Team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, production, and fundraising. You will work closely with the Event Manager to help deliver one of our signature initiatives throughout the placement.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of the charity’s events, from concept to execution
- Assist in venue logistics, décor planning, and coordinating food, beverage, and flow of the event
- Help manage relationships with vendors and performers, including booking and scheduling
- Participate in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and regular check-ins with the Event Manager
- Contribute to budget tracking and assist in organizing documentation related to the event
- Provide support during live events, ensuring everything runs smoothly and on schedule
Qualifications
- A current student or recent graduate in event planning, nonprofit management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field
- Passionate about social causes and creating meaningful experiences
- Strong organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Comfortable working in both independent and team environments
- Willing to learn, take initiative, and grow professionally through mentorship and practical experience
- Some experience (volunteer or paid) in event coordination or logistics is an asset, but not required
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.); knowledge of event management tools is a bonus

Work Model
This position follows a hybrid model – a mix of remote and in-person work based in Toronto.
Flexibility will be provided, though availability for in-person events and meetings is required.
