Summary

LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. Since 2004, we have been creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders.

We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator Volunteer who is a results-driven team player to join our Communication Team, we are offering this Valuable Volunteering Internship opportunity for a confident, results-driven individual to join our communications team. Under the direction of the Digital Content Manager, the Social Media Coordinator Volunteer will work to bring a platform that tells the story of LetsStopAIDS. Their goal is to storytell, while connecting with community partners, influencers, and friends to build mutually positive relationships, while also being an essential part of the LetsStopAIDS Social Media team, creating meaningful and purposeful content.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Digital Content & Brand Identity Manager, the Social Media Coordinator Volunteer will be:

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Content team by helping write, develop and execute social media strategies for projects, programs, or events – in addition to any news that is of importance to our audience.
  • Support content promotion by engaging with posts and interacting with followers, partners, and community members to increase reach and visibility.
  • Attend weekly meetings hosted by our Social Media team to stay up to date with trends, content and postings for that week.
  • Stay informed on trends, platform updates, and ongoing conversations related to technology and social media.
  • Ensure social media content is strategically planned and optimized to drive organic audience growth.

Qualifications

  • Savvy with social media platforms such as TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, and any other social media platforms on the rise.
  • Background and experience in working with social media strategy with a proven knowledge of latest social media trends and best practices.
  • Basic audio/video editing skills.
  • Good understanding of SEO best practices.
  • Self-starter able to meet deadlines and juggle numerous projects.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills who can take direction.
  • Good social media copywriting skills and the ability to adapt tone and voice as needed.
