Summary
LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. Since 2004, we have been creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders.
We are looking for a strong leader to join the National Team as Junior Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will oversee and lead projects from ideation through to completion, and help put in place processes & policies for project management. The Junior Project Coordinator will ensure project initiatives meet the goals and objectives set forth by the VP, National and Leadership team. The Junior Project Coordinator will report directly to the Project Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Coordinator with communications and other tasks including planning, monitoring, execution, and evaluation of projects.
- Partner with National Leaders to plan and define scope of projects
- With guidance of the Project Coordinator, set project priorities, identify project issues, and recommend solutions, and approve changes to projects as they arise
- Train team members on project onboarding process, setting them up to manage projects autonomously, including creating training sessions, materials and structures for knowledge transfer
- Establish project timelines and provide time & cost estimates including but not limited to activity/resource planning and sequencing and developing project budgets
- Conduct risk analysis and manage risks on an ongoing basis
- Maintain up to date project portfolio reports, schedules, milestone dates, risk logs, issue logs, change logs and decision logs
- Perform quality control for project deliverables and assist in deliverable completion as deemed appropriate by the Project Coordinator.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in project management in a dynamic, complex environment
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
- Ability to build, influence and motivate teams
- Strong leadership and relationship building capabilities
- Proficiency in Google Docs & GSuite applications
Dedication and Compensation
The position offered is for a full-time unpaid role based out of our Toronto office located at 160 John Street. The successful candidate will be required to work from our downtown Toronto office with the flexibility to work from home for up to two days a week. The candidate will be expected to fulfill their requirement for total co-op hours as per their college or university.
